The Cleveland Browns needed only two words. Hours after a 27-24 Thursday Night Football win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team took to social media with an epic troll of former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.
The reference was only a day old.
On Wednesday, Tomlin, now an NBC analyst, unveiled a Minecraft city he has spent 12 years building so he could connect with his children. He has said they still ask him to pull the city up when they come home. The first public tour covered rooftops, penthouses and urban blocks.
Cleveland also had a line to answer. After the Browns lost their opener to Jacksonville, Tomlin borrowed a JuJu Smith-Schuster phrase and said, “The Browns is the Browns.” Coach Todd Monken said the comment reached his locker room after a Week 2 win over Tampa Bay, while noting his respect for Tomlin.
Thursday made the joke stick.
Deshaun Watson put Cleveland in range after Aaron Rodgers tied it late, and Andre Szmyt hit a career-long 56-yard field goal with 10 seconds left. The Browns moved to 3-1. The Steelers fell to 2-2.
