Lions GM on Ndamukong Suh: We’re not looking to trade him
Detroit Lions GM Martin Mayhew says the team is not looking to trade Ndamukong Suh despite rumors to the contrary.
A recent report said the Lions had conversations about trading Suh, though the talks were characterized as not very serious. During a pre-draft press conference Monday, Mayhew addressed the report.
“We’re not looking to trade him, we have no plans of trading him. I haven’t had any conversations with anybody about trading him, except in January, I did get a call from a team who had an interest, offered me a box of old tube socks, and I said no thank you,” Mayhew said via the Free Press.
Suh has skipped voluntary workouts with the team thus far which is customary for him, but he should join the team later in the month.
Suh is set to earn $11.55 million next season. The team is working on signing him to a long-term deal. If they are unable to work something out, then they might legitimately consider trading him.
