Lou Holtz had to change blue sweater during Ohio State visit
The rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan is among the fiercest in college football. We certainly know how serious Jim Harbaugh takes it. On Saturday, we received another reminder how things are on the Ohio State side.
The Buckeyes held Student Appreciation Day, which includes food, fun, and the opportunity for autographs in conjunction with an Ohio State spring football practice. Among the festivities, was a visit from Lou Holtz, who had Urban Meyer on his staff at Notre Dame during Holtz’s last season as head coach of the Fighting Irish. Holtz also served as an assistant coach at Ohio State on the staff of the legendary Woody Hayes.
In a photo posted to Twitter by Meyer, welcoming one of his mentors, Holtz can be seen wearing a blue sweater.

While Holtz was welcomed on his visit, the blue sweater was not. Later in the morning, Holtz was wearing scarlet when introduced by Meyer.

He may be Lou Holtz and he may be a friend of the program, but rules are rules. Meyer has been known to have students do pushups for wearing blue to class. Thankfully Meyer took it easy on Holtz, this time.
