Luke Kuechly out for Week 12
When the Panthers face the Raiders on Sunday, they will be without star linebacker Luke Kuechly.
During the fourth quarter of last week’s game against the Saints, Kuechly sustained a concussion and was visibly emotional while being carted off the field. He entered the NFL’s concussion protocol and has not yet been cleared to return to the field. As a result, he will be inactive for this week’s game, per the team’s injury report.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Kuechly has contemplated seeing a concussion specialist as this is the second one of his career. Given the heightened awareness surrounding head injuries and this not being Kuechly’s first one, it’s understandable caution would be exercised.
Kuechly currently leads the Panthers with 102 tackles so far this season. He has also recorded two sacks, seven tackles for loss, one interception, and one forced fumble.
