Matt Rhule ‘unbelievably excited’ to work with Cam Newton
The Carolina Panthers continue to send mixed signals about Cam Newton’s future with the team.
On Tuesday, it was new coach Matt Rhule who said that he was “unbelievably excited” to get the opportunity to work with Newton despite rumors that the Panthers may still look to move on from the quarterback.
Matt Rhule on Cam Newton: “I am unbelievably excited to get a chance to work with Cam. He’s an impressive man and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him. He’s doing a great job. I’m excited to get him healthy.”

Newton is recovering from a Lisfranc injury that limited him to two games in 2019. The Panthers want to see him healthy before committing to him, but there are certainly indications that Carolina is leaning toward committing to the quarterback. Public comments like this from Rhule will only add to the belief that the Panthers will be sticking with their quarterback going forward.
