Michael Bennett believes Marshawn Lynch is done playing ‘for right now’
Nobody seems quite willing to completely shut the door on a Marshawn Lynch return.
Michael Bennett is the latest Seattle Seahawks player to chime in on Lynch, and while he pretty well rules out a return in 2016, he doesn’t quite close the door on the future.
“Yeah, I think he’s done,” Bennett said, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. “He might make an appearance later on but I think he’s done for right now. He’s played a lot of football, done a lot of great things on the field. I think he’s really focused on his community work. I want him to play again, but we’ll see.”
The fact is, it sounds like nobody really knows for sure if Lynch’s retirement is permanent, or if he’s going to get the itch to play again after some time away from the game. Some Seahawks players reportedly aren’t convinced that he’s gone for good, although Bennett doesn’t seem to think he’ll be back in 2016.
Of course, Lynch reportedly has a lot of cash saved up, and the Seahawks just gave him what amounts to a very expensive retirement gift. With that in mind, maybe he really is finished after all.
