Michael Vick thinks he is still one of the fastest QBs in NFL, would beat Cam Newton

Michael Vick may not have a job in the NFL right now, but he still believes he’d be one of the fastest quarterbacks in the league if he did.

Vick attended the HoopTee Celebrity Golf Classic in Charlotte on Thursday, and while there, he said he’d still be among the three fastest signal-callers — faster, even, than Cam Newton.

“Cam couldn’t beat you in the 40?” Vick was asked, via Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer.

“No, Cam can’t beat me in the 40,” Vick said. “But his speed is decent. Decent speed. Good enough. Fast enough, I will say that.”

It’s worth noting that Vick ran a 4.33 40 at his pro day, while Newton ran it in 4.59 seconds. It is also worth noting that Vick did that 15 years ago.

Vick repeated his desire to play again in the NFL, though he’s only interested in contending teams.
