Video: Mike Shanahan gets upstaged by kids during TV shot
The story of the winter run of football is quickly turning into former coaches being upstaged in private boxes by unruly children.
The latest victim is longtime Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan. Shanahan is the father of 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, and also coached Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, meaning his fingerprints were all over Sunday’s NFC Divisional game. That led to NBC showing him on camera, which then led to some kids in Shanahan’s private box deciding to upstage things.

The key here is that they aren’t directly bothering Shanahan, which is why they did not get the reception that Barry Alvarez gave the kids pestering him during the Rose Bowl. There’s a right and wrong way to go about getting on TV, kids, and the right way involves not bothering the old football coach.
