Mike Zimmer will not yet name Vikings’ starting quarterback
Just because the Minnesota Vikings traded for Sam Bradford doesn’t mean he’s an automatic choice to start at quarterback for the team’s season opener.
Coach Mike Zimmer said that the general public probably won’t know whether it’s Bradford or Shaun Hill who will be starting for the team until Sunday.
Coach Zimmer says that he won't publicly announce Sunday's starting QB. He will tell the team when he's made the decision.

It seems obvious that, after giving up so much to bring Bradford into the fold, he’d be handed the starting job and be told to run with it. As of Tuesday, though, he wasn’t, and you have to consider the fact that he’s only been with the team a week and is likely still coming to grips with the playbook and the scheme. It could be a golden opportunity for Hill, but really, it would be a surprise if Bradford doesn’t end up as the starter at some point in the near future, even if it isn’t the first weekend of the season.
