Minkah Fitzpatrick made a spectacular play during his Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 7 game against the New York Jets at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Sunday night, but it went for nothing due to a foul call.
The Jets had scored a touchdown to take a 13-6 lead in the second quarter. New York was getting ready to attempt an extra point, but Fitzpatrick jumped between Jets blockers and blocked the kick.
The officials threw a flag on the play and called Fitzpatrick for a foul. They said he used leverage to jump over the line, which is against the rules.

The penalty call put the Jets closer to the goal line, so they decided to go for two and converted to go up 15-6.
Steelers fans were not happy with the call because they thought Fitzpatrick’s block was clean.
Minkah Fitzpatrick touched no one jumping over the line. Bad leverage call

Though Fitzpatrick touched an offensive lineman with his hand as he hurdled over, did he actually push off of him? That’s the question that needs to be answered when it comes to calling that foul. NBC’s commentators said they disagreed with the call.
