The NFLPA issued a statement in response to the league’s new national anthem policy on Wednesday, and they made it quite clear that they’re not satisfied with how things have gone.
The Players Association said that the new policy, which would fine teams whose players kneel, did not involve their consultation and went against what they were promised during previous discussions.

You can read more about the new policy here, but the long and short of it is that those opposed to players kneeling more or less got exactly what they wanted. Personnel may remain in the locker room during the anthem if they don’t wish to stand, but under the policy, that’s basically their only option.
It certainly sounds like the NFLPA will look for ways to challenge this new policy, so this issue may not be settled just yet depending on what prominent players think.
