Nick Bosa seems unlikely to slip past the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, and that pick is held by the San Francisco 49ers. Because there’s a strong chance he ends up in the liberal city of San Francisco, the former Ohio State star has been preparing accordingly.
Those who follow Bosa on social media know that he used to share a lot more political opinions than he has lately. He was outspoken with his support of president Donald Trump last year and also called Colin Kaepernick a “clown”, among other things. During a recent interview, Bosa admitted he toned down that commentary in case the Niners draft him.
Interesting story on Nick Bosa and the contrast of how politics is discussed in comparison to black athletes. With a black, outspoken political athlete, politics becomes the story, the player’s identity and his views would affect his draft status, likely make him a risk. pic.twitter.com/URkqUGqneB

Compared to some of the other decisions Bosa made to protect his draft stock, toning it down on social media seems pretty simple. However, it will be interesting to see if he goes back to sharing his polarizing views after he has secured an NFL contract. Fans in San Francisco are certainly accustomed to that.
