JK Scott was the unsung hero of the Green Bay Packers’ opening night victory on Thursday, but his contributions were certainly not lost on Pat McAfee.
The second-year punter’s 63-yard boot with less than two minutes remaining in the game pinned the opposing Chicago Bears inside of their own 14-yard line and helped secure the 10-3 win for Green Bay. Scott’s heroics earned him a funny shoutout on Twitter from the retired punting legend McAfee, who posted a video extolling the virtues of the 22-year-old’s form.
Here is the video (but beware of the vulgar language):

The Alabama product Scott won the Packers’ starting punter job as a rookie last season and should keep a stranglehold on the position if Thursday’s game was any indication. Hopefully though, Scott doesn’t get the same treatment that McAfee got the last time he uncorked a punt that deep.
