Watch: Christian McCaffrey throws touchdown on ballsy 4th down trick play
Going for it on 4th-and-2 at midfield in the first quarter of a game is already ballsy enough. But calling for a trick play when going for it, that’s taking things to the next level. And that’s exactly what the Carolina Panthers did on Monday night.
The Panthers had a 4th-and-2 at midfield and went for it, calling for a halfback pass. They handed the ball off to Christian McCaffrey as if he were running up the middle, but he stopped and threw a pass to a wide open Chris Manhertz instead.
Did that just happen?!

That touchdown made it 7-0 in favor of Carolina. It also goes down as McCaffrey’s first career touchdown pass.
