Report: Pat Shurmur drawing interest from multiple teams as offensive coordinator

Pat Shurmur

Pat Shurmur was fired as the head coach the New York Giants following just his second season on the job, but it sounds like he has a good chance to land with another team in 2020.

Shurmur is drawing interest from multiple NFL teams as an offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Shurmur has coached in the NFL in some capacity for 20 years now, so teams are not going to write him off simply because he couldn’t win with the Giants. He has served as an offensive coordinator for three different teams, most recently with the Minnesota Vikings before New York hired him. There’s a reason he landed a head coaching job after that, so it’s no surprise he is going to have other options.

The Giants finished 4-12 this season and Shurmur went 9-23 overall with the team, but the work he did with rookie quarterback Daniel Jones nearly saved his job. That will go a long way toward helping him land his next gig.
