Some questioned whether or not the Chiefs would sign Mahomes to an extension with new uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but that did not stand in the way of a deal. The two sides have been discussing a record-breaking contract throughout the offseason.
Mahomes led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl title last year and was named MVP. He won the NFL MVP Award in 2018, when he threw for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
