Patrick Mahomes’ message to Josh Allen after game revealed

Patrick Mahomes whispering to Josh Allen

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sent rival Josh Allen a rather awkward parting message Sunday after the Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills dealt the Chiefs their fifth defeat of the season in a 20-17 affair at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The loss was also the Chiefs’ fourth over their last six games.

Mahomes was heated with a minute left in the game over a late offensive offsides call against Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Kansas City had a 2nd-and-10 near midfield and trailed by three when Toney appeared to score a go-ahead touchdown. Instead, the penalty wiped away what would have been an epic highlight play (video here).

Mahomes apparently still had the penalty on his mind when he met Allen after the game. The reigning MVP complained about the call as the two embraced, which was probably an awkward moment for the winning QB.

“The wildest f—ing call I’ve ever seen. Offensive offsides … f—ing terrible,” said Mahomes (profanity edited by LBS).

Both Mahomes and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid let their frustrations on the field spill over to their respective press conferences. The two ripped the officials for making the offsides call at such a crucial juncture.

Mahomes went 25/43 for 271 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Allen finished 23/42 for 233 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The Bills QB also rushed for 32 yards and 1 touchdown on 10 carries.

The Chiefs fell to 8-5 with the loss, hurting their chances of snagging the top seed in the AFC. The Bills kept their playoff hopes alive by improving to 7-6.
