Patriots reportedly discussed Demaryius Thomas
The New England Patriots, never one to settle for what they already have roster-wise, have reportedly looked into acquiring a fairly big-name receiver.
According to Michael Giardi of NFL Network, the Patriots have had internal discussions about acquiring Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, a former Josh McDaniels draft pick.
Multiple league sources confirm the #Patriots have been active on the trade front for weeks. That’s not abnormal for them. One name that’s been discussed is #Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas. Thomas was drafted by Pats OC Josh McDaniels when he was HC at Denver.

The Patriots are clearly interested in another weapon for Tom Brady. He’s already forging a strong connection with one, but a second would be a real boon to the Patriots, who are never satisfied with what they have.
Thomas has 33 catches for 372 yards and three touchdowns this season. The 30-year-old had five consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons from 2012 through 2016.
