Patriots reportedly sign WR Jordan Matthews to one-year deal
No Brandin Cooks, no problem for New England.
The Patriots are making up for the losses of Cooks and Danny Amendola this offseason with a stealth signing.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter says New England is signing Jordan Matthews to a one-year deal.
Matthews was a second-round pick by the Eagles in 2014 and had three strong seasons for them before being traded to the Bills last year. He was bothered by ankle and knee injuries, the latter of which ended his season early in 2017.
Matthews had interest from the Packers, Cardinals and Titans, in addition to New England.
The Patriots will now have Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Malcolm Mitchell, Kenny Britt, Cordarrelle Patterson, Phillip Dorsett and Matthews competing at wide receiver.
