Adrian Peterson left his visit with the New England Patriots without a deal, and he reportedly walked away without an offer, too.
According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, the Patriots did not make an offer to Peterson — and he seems to think one won’t be coming.
With Adrian Peterson, from what I understand, the Pats didn't get to the point today where they were willing to make an offer. He's gone.

Belichick has the freedom to host players, even those as controversial as Peterson, for scouting purposes (check the knee, for example).

If Belichick genuinely wanted to sign Peterson, he'd have to run it by Robert Kraft. I'd be surprised if Kraft would OK that.

Peterson has some interest around the league, but this makes the Patriots sound like a longshot. They’re apparently not after him right now.
