Raiders S Johnathan Abram will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery
The injury news on Johnathan Abram is as bad as Oakland Raiders fans feared.
The rookie safety will be placed on injured reserve and undergo season-ending shoulder surgery on Thursday, Jon Gruden told reporters Wednesday.

Abram suffered a torn rotator cuff and labrum in his shoulder during the first quarter of the Monday night win over the Broncos. He played through the injury and finished with five tackles and a pass defended.
Abram was one of three players drafted in the first round this year by the Raiders and will now be taking a “redshirt year,” as Gruden termed it. This is a big loss for a team that had been revitalized by its draft picks.
