Report: Raiders owner Mark Davis could move to San Antonio if Los Angeles move fails

Mark Davis

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis could eye a move to San Antonio if the team’s attempts to relocate to Los Angeles fall through, according to a report.

According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, the Raiders are the least likely of the three teams to file for relocation to get the move to Los Angeles they desire. His solution could reportedly be to cast his eyes towards San Antonio.

Sources told Cole that Davis already owns a parcel of land between San Antonio and Austin where he could build a new stadium, and Davis could use that as leverage against Oakland to give him land for a new stadium there.

This would obviously be an annoyance for Jerry Jones, who Cole notes is pushing for a joint partnership that would move both the Chargers and Rams to L.A. Cole notes that Jones would try to block a Raiders move to Texas, but would have a difficult time doing so as long as he backs the Rams/Chargers proposal.

Cole does note that this could all just be leverage against Oakland. Whatever the case, the relocation dominoes should begin falling next week with the scheduled ownership meeting.
