Rams send hilarious message to Steelers after clinching playoff spot
The Los Angeles Rams were in a forgiving mood after getting some help in punching their ticket to the postseason.
The Rams officially clinched their spot in the playoffs on Sunday after the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 30-23 in Week 17. While the Rams took care of their own business with a 26-25 victory over the New York Giants, they still needed some assistance from the Steelers in knocking off their NFC West rival Seahawks to formally seal things.
In a post to their official team X page, the Rams sent a priceless message of thanks to the Steelers.
“This makes up for that spot of the ball,” they wrote.

That was a callback to the Week 7 matchup between the Rams and Steelers (which the latter won by a 24-17 final score). The ending of that game was marred by a controversial spot by the officials, who ruled that the Steelers got enough for a crucial first down on a 4th-and-1 Kenny Pickett QB sneak. That was despite instant replay clearly showing that the Rams (who could not challenge the spot because they were out of timeouts) had stopped Pickett short of the line to gain.
While the Steelers may have hurt the Rams in the standings that week, they helped them when it mattered this week. As such, the Rams, who continue to prove their critics wrong this season, are happy to call it even-steven.
