Randy Moss defends Tom Brady on role in Deflategate

Tom-Brady-Fantasy-Analysis-Randy-Moss-TradeRandy Moss and Tom Brady joined forces to put up one of the best seasons in NFL history for a quarterback/wide receiver tandem in 2007.

The Patriots went 16-0 during the regular season. Moss broke Jerry Rice’s record for touchdown receptions in a season with 23. Brady’s 50 touchdown passes broke Peyton Manning’s single season record and remains the most Brady has thrown in a season. It was a match made in heaven.

Eight years later, Brady finds himself at the center of a controversy that alleges he was aware of footballs used in this year’s AFC Championship Game being under-inflated. Brady was, of course, suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season. However, the three-time Super Bowl MVP was said to have put on an impressive performance during his appear hearing, leading many to think his punishment may be reduced.

A decision on the appeal is expected soon. In the meantime, Moss has come to the defense of his former teammate.

“I’ve always stood in Tom’s corner,” Moss said, per the Fayetteville Observer. “I called myself a professional but that man was definitely a letter grade above me.”

“Over some air?” Moss said. “If he did it, so what? He hasn’t shown me anything but how he carries himself as a professional man, husband, father and athlete.”

randy-moss-interviewMoss’ comment about air is pretty much par for the course for him and anyone who has seen moss in front of a microphone can surely picture him saying that with a patented Rady Moss look on his face.

There has been no shortage of people who have voiced their support for Brady during the process and it’s no surprise Moss is among them. Colin Kaepernick defended the Brady with a tweet, as did Roddy White.
