Rashee Rice carted off after being injured by Patrick Mahomes’ tackle attempt
Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Rashee Rice fell victim to some incredibly unfortunate friendly fire on Sunday.
Rice was carted off the field after he suffered a knee injury during the first quarter of Kansas City’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The injury occurred when Patrick Mahomes took out Rice’s right leg while the quarterback was trying to make a tackle after throwing an interception.

Talk about a nightmare scenario for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs are already thin at the wide receiver position after Hollywood Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason and had to undergo season-ending surgery.
Rice had an outstanding rookie season last year and has established himself as Kansas City’s top wideout. He was far and away the Chiefs’ leading receiver entering Sunday’s game with 24 receptions and 288 yards.
That interception is going to haunt Mahomes for a while, especially if Rice misses a significant period of time.
