Derrick Rose made a political statement during pregame warmups on Saturday night when he wore a shirt that had “I Can’t Breathe” written across the front. On Sunday, Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush did the same thing.
Bush wore a long-sleeve shirt with the same message clearly displayed.

Both Bush and Rose were paying tribute to Eric Garner, who was killed by a police officer in New York after he was strangled to death. A grand jury ruled that officer Daniel Pantaleo will not be charged for the incident.
Rose and Bush aren’t the only professional athletes to make a statement in memory of Garner.
