Report: Johnny Manziel forcing decision from CFL team
Johnny Manziel appears to have some serious interest in playing in the CFL. To that end, his representatives have reportedly activated a 10-day window that would force the team that owns his rights to make a move involving him.
TSN’s Dave Naylor reported the news on Twitter Wednesday about Manziel. He says that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, which own Manziel’s rights, now have 10 days to decide whether to sign, trade or release the QB.

Naylor is unsure when Manziel activated his 10-day window:
Not confirmed exactly when Manziel's reps pulled the 10-day clause but it has indeed been pulled. #CFL #Ticats

Regardless, this means Manziel’s status in the CFL will become clearer in the near future.
Manziel had been talking for the several months about making a football comeback. He tried meeting with NFL teams and drumming up some interest, but he ultimately remained unsigned. That led to lots of chatter involving him and the CFL. One CFL team was actually fined for meeting with Manziel’s reps because the QB’s rights were held by another team.
Manziel reportedly worked out for Hamilton recently, but based on the way things are said to have gone, they may end up releasing him.
