Rex Ryan thinks Eric Decker might have a tough time fitting in with the Jets, and it’s not because of reason you might expect.
Ryan talked about his Jets during an interview with “Daily News Live” on SNY Thursday, and he was asked about Decker’s reality show.
Decker and his wife, Jessie James, have a reality show on E! that figures to receive more attention now that the couple is moving to New York.
Ryan joked that reality TV is not for him after the way things went during his time on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” He then took it upon himself to address Decker’s good looks.
“I will say this: that’s a good-looking kid now, there’s no question about it,” Ryan volunteered. “When he showed up, I’m like, ‘he’s not going to fit in the locker room because he’s way better looking than the rest of the guys we’ve got.'”
The good news for Jets fans is that Rex isn’t worried about Decker’s reality show being a distraction.
“I think he’s going to be more focused on football than he will anything else.”
We agree with him. Even with getting married, his wife being pregnant, and the reality show, Decker still had 87 catches for 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. He’ll be fine no matter what. And if something goes wrong with football, he can always just pursue modeling.
