
Rich Gannon has backed out of taking a role as Jon Gruden’s quarterbacks coach with the Oakland Raiders.
Gannon told 95.7 The Game that he changed his mind about taking the position Tuesday, feeling that he couldn’t offer Gruden the commitment required to take up the position.

Gannon had been the one openly talking about taking the position in the lead-up to Gruden’s hiring. Ultimately, there’s a big difference between the idea of handling the job and then being confronted with the possibility to actually take it. Gannon ultimately chose to sit this one out.
