Former NFL defensive back Richard Sherman shared frightening video Monday of what he said was an armed break-in at his family home.
Sherman shared screenshots and video on X of home surveillance video showing armed robbers breaking into his Seattle-area home on Friday. He added that his wife and children had been home at the time, and that his wife had “masterfully” handled the situation and kept their kids safe.
The video shows three individuals breaking into Sherman’s home. At least one of them can be seen carrying a gun.

“House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift,” Sherman wrote. “Scary situation that my wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe.”

Sherman asked anyone with information on the culprits to reach out. In a separate post, he said he had been told by police that the same intruders had targeted five homes in the area.
A number of pro athletes fell victim to home robberies last year, with many of their homes being targeted while they were away playing games. At least some of those robbers have been caught and apprehended by authorities, suggesting what happened to Sherman may be a more localized incident.
