Riley Cooper commented on Tuesday about his release by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The wide receiver posted a statement on Twitter in which he said hearing the news was “tough.”
The last 2 days have been tough but I'm very thankful for the opportunity the Eagles gave me. I love you philly!!! Onto the next chapter.

Cooper was a 5th-round pick by the Eagles in 2010 and was fairly productive for the team, catching 18 touchdowns over his six-season career. He ultimately never lived up to the contract extension he received following his 835-yard, 8-touchdown season in 2013, slipping to just 327 yards and two touchdowns last season.
Many will feel Cooper’s release is long overdue after he got in trouble for this racist video in 2013.
