Rob Gronkowski was added to the New England Patriots’ injury report on Thursday with an ankle issue, but it does not sound like the star tight end is in danger of missing Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Lions.
While a player being added to the injury report late in the week is never a good sign, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Gronkowski’s ankle ailment is “nothing to be worried about.”

Gronkowski was kept in check by the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, catching just two passes for 15 yards in the 31-20 loss. With Julian Edelman still out, the Patriots will likely need to lean on him heavily against Detroit. Gronk’s ankle injury is worth monitoring even if he plays through it.
