Rob Gronkowski’s girlfriend Camille Kostek will not rule out TE playing again

Rob Gronkowski

Many people have speculated that Rob Gronkowski could change his mind about retirement and return to the New England Patriots at some point during the 2019 season, and it sounds as though even his longtime girlfriend is not ruling that out.

Former Patriots cheerleader Camille Kostek, who is one of this year’s cover models for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, spoke briefly about Gronk’s retirement during an interview with Liz Gonzales of Barstool Sports this week. When Gonzales referred to Gronkowski as being “allegedly” retired, Kostek had an interesting response.

“I know, right. Everyone keeps saying that to me,” she said. “They’re like, ‘Is he actually?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, he really is.'”

While that seemed pretty definitive, Gonzales then asked if Kostek could envision a scenario where Gronk gets “a little itchy” and wants to play again. She would not rule it out.

“That’s the beautiful thing — he can come back,” Kostek said. “He could literally go back. … Whatever you want to do, you can do.”

That may not be much, but it’s also not Kostek coming out and saying Gronkowski’s retirement decision is final. Interestingly enough, even Gronk’s own agent said he could see the star tight end playing again in the future.

As of now, Gronkowski appears to have some big plans for life after football. We all know about his lengthy injury history, but if the Patriots need him late in the season next year and his body is feeling good, it would not be a shock if he came out of retirement for another playoff run.
