Rob Gronkowski jokes about Tampa Bay Buccaneers rumor
Rob Gronkowski joked during an Instagram Live chat this week about the rumor of him going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The rumor, which is totally bogus but nonetheless became a story, was started as a ruse by the cheeky “Pardon My Take” co-host PFT Commenter. PFT Commenter is a sarcastic character who also created a Twitter account for his dog Leroy, from which he pretends to break news.
Last week, PFT Commenter made up a rumor he tweeted from his dog’s account about Gronk “strongly considering” a return to the NFL to play with Tom Brady on the Bucs.
Hearing a wild rumor that has serious legs. Rob Gronkowski is strongly considering returning to the NFL to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with his old teammate Tom Brady. Has been training in Florida in addition to Wrestlemania. Please credit Leroy woof woof

As if you couldn’t already tell what a made-up joke that was, the “woof woof” at the end should tell you. Nevertheless, the story became a talking point and was even addressed by us earlier this week.
And that brings us to Gronk, who made a reference to the joke during an Instagram Live chat this week.

“Wow, PFT Commenter, his dog is starting some crazy rumors out there. His dog Leroy, he’s gotta keep his dog quiet!” Gronk said.
Gronk is a regular guest on “Pardon My Take,” so he’s in on the jokes by PFT and Leroy. But not everyone else in the sports world is, which makes the rumors funny when they spread, even for those involved.
