Robert Griffin III appears to have nixed his Washington tell-all book

Robert Griffin III announced a few months ago that he was working on a book that would expose much of the dysfunction within the now-Washington Commanders organization, but it seems the former quarterback has bailed on the idea.

Eric Bickel, co-host of “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan, revealed on Thursday that Griffin is no longer planning to publish his book. Bickel said on the air that co-author Gary Myers has moved on from the project and RG3 had “second thoughts” about it.

Bickel said Thursday that he was taking a “victory lap” after accurately predicting the book would never be published.

Griffin tweeted on Nov. 30 that he was writing a book called “Surviving Washington.” It was available for pre-order at the time. RG3 said he was looking forward to walking readers “through one of the most dysfunctional franchises in all of sports.” The tweet has since been deleted. The pre-order link for the book also no longer exists.

Not long after RG3 teased the book release, two former Washington players unloaded on him for the idea. While Griffin has not yet publicly commented on why the book was nixed, the backlash he received almost certainly played a role.
