One of the most disappointing seasons in New England Patriots history came to a close on Sunday, and team owner Robert Kraft did not stick around to witness the end of the game.
The Patriots had won 15 straight against the New York Jets before losing to their division rival at a snowy Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. After Breece Hall scored a touchdown to put the Jets up 15-3 with 1:47 remaining, Kraft did something he has rarely done during his successful reign in New England.
Kraft stood up and left his luxury box.

That was a rare sight for Patriots fans. Kraft has mostly been shown on TV celebrating victories, but there was very little for him to get excited about this season. New England finished 4-13 with the loss to the Jets, which was the team’s worst record since they went 2-14 in 1992.
Kraft now has to decide whether he wants head coach Bill Belichick back next season. The two had not met prior to Sunday, but they will get together at some point in the near future.
Some people believe Belichick could return next year under one specific set of circumstances, but the way the season ended probably makes that even less likely.
