Ron Rivera bans Panthers from using hoverboards

Don’t expect to see Cam Newton on a hoverboard anytime soon.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera has banned his players from using hoverboards due to the injury risk, and the viral videos – and the fact that two of his players saw fit to drag race on them.

Indeed, the hoverboard has erupted in popularity. Even John Calipari tried one. Perhaps Rivera’s last straw, though, was seeing his potential MVP quarterback and noted hoverboard enthusiast gliding through traffic back in November. We’re guessing that didn’t make him all that happy.
