The New Orleans Saints appear to be sticking with Dennis Allen as their head coach, and a group of fans is extremely unhappy about that.
Two Saints fans launched a GoFundMe campaign this week in an effort to raise money to pay for a “Fire Dennis Allen” billboard. The billboard would be displayed for a total of four weeks near the Saints’ facility and cost $1,800.
The fundraising page says Allen “has been a complete failure as a head coach in New Orleans and the entire Who Dat Nation is sick of it.”

As of Wednesday morning, the GoFundMe was up to $1,740. If the $1,800 cost figure is accurate, it sounds like the organizers will reach their goal.
The Saints went 9-8 this season in Allen’s second year as head coach. They finished 7-10 a year ago, so there was some improvement. You could make the argument that the roster is a bigger issue than coaching, as New Orleans is stuck with a lot of expensive veteran contracts (Derek Carr for one) that have placed them in a difficult situation.
There was also the issue of Saints players completely ignoring their coach at the end of their Week 18 game, but it does not sound like ownership is overly concerned about that.
Allen’s job appears to be safe barring an unexpected change. He just may have to look at an unflattering billboard every time he goes to work for the next several weeks.
