Sam Darnold admits he is ‘seeing ghosts’ against Patriots
Sam Darnold had a rough time facing the No. 1 defense in the NFL on Monday night and even admitted he was “seeing ghosts.”
Darnold was wearing a microphone for ESPN’s telecast of the game between the New York Jets and New England Patriots. The network showed a clip during the first half of Darnold sitting on the bench after a possession and admitting he was “seeing ghosts.”

The stats seemed to match his admission. Darnold was just 6/13 for 34 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the first half. He also lost a fumble.
Darnold’s Jets went into halftime down 24-0 and struggled to move the ball against the Patriots’ top defense. Maybe this brought Darnold back down to earth after he found Dallas’ defense so easy.
