Sam Darnold remains limited in Jets’ practice
New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold doesn’t look like he’s close to being ready to return Sunday.
Darnold didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice, though he did don a jersey and helmet. His foot injury, apparently, remains a factor.

Darnold is still just doing light positional workouts, and things will have to change quickly if he intends to face the New England Patriots on Sunday. Progress has been steady, but very slow. The Jets have no incentive to rush their rookie quarterback into a return, as they’re 3-7 and clearly going nowhere. Odds are Josh McCown will end up getting the Week 12 start, with Week 13 looking like a more realistic return date for Darnold.
