Report: Seahawks, Russell Wilson have made ‘very little progress’ in talks
Quarterback Russell Wilson is still waiting on a new contract from the Seattle Seahawks, and the process appears to be moving slowly.
According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, the two sides have been engaged in frequent discussions about Wilson’s new deal, but there has not been any breakthrough in negotiations. One source told Condotta on Friday that there has been “very little progress” in these talks.
Wilson has set an April 15 deadline for a new deal, and that deadline could motivate both sides to make a deal quickly. Things can change quickly, as DeMarcus Lawrence could tell you given how quickly that deal came together.
Wilson has one year remaining on the four-year deal he signed prior to the 2015 season. The good news for Seattle is that there doesn’t appear to be any threat of the quarterback holding out if no deal is reached by the 15th.
