Sean McVay, Aaron Donald send message about retirement rumors at parade
Rumors have lingered about the futures of both Rams coach Sean McVay and defensive lineman Aaron Donald. At Wednesday’s Super Bowl parade in Los Angeles, both seemed to send a hint about their future plans.
McVay in particular seemed quite bullish about returning in 2022. At one point, he grabbed the microphone and began chanting “run it back” at Donald, suggesting that the coach has every intention of going for another Super Bowl title.
Donald’s response was arguably more interesting.

“We built a superteam. We can bring the superteam back. Why not run it back? We could be world champs again,” Donald said.
Donald in particular has sounded like he is seriously contemplating retirement. He certainly struck a different tone at the parade, though he may well have been caught up in the moment and responding to the crowd. On the other hand, he’s still only 30, so he’s certainly got more football in him if he wants to keep playing.
McVay has also been the subject of exit speculation, though there may be more at play there. Whatever the case, neither sounded eager to walk away on Wednesday.
