Sean Payton shrugs off Marcus Peters’ ‘gumbo’ comments
If there’s bad blood between New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and Los Angeles Rams cornerback Marcus Peters, it’s pretty one-sided.
Payton brushed off inflammatory comments by Peters stemming from the first meeting between the two teams during the regular season, adding that the Saints nearly drafted the cornerback in 2015.
Sean Payton declines to comment on Marcus Peters’ gumbo comment. Payton said the Saints almost drafted Peters in 2015, spent time together during predraft process, says it’s “all good.”

Peters has not forgotten what he said back in November, so it’s fair to say that the olive branch won’t be accepted. The Rams want revenge after the Saints ran out 45-35 winners over them in that game, and now they get that rematch in a conference championship game.
