Another unflattering report emerges about Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders has had his skill set criticized more than seemingly any other player leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, and yet another negative report has surfaced about the former Colorado star.

In his latest column for Sports Illustrated that was published on Monday, longtime NFL reporter Albert Breer said he does not believe Sanders is going to be drafted by either the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 overall or New York Giants at No. 3. That is because many scouts and coaches do not believe Sanders is even worthy of a first-round pick.

Breer said he spoke with several NFL coaches and scouts who simply do not view Sanders as being an exceptional talent.

“What I keep hearing — and this has nothing to do with anyone having some personal issue with Sanders, or looking for him to fall in the draft so they can draft him — is that he isn’t a great athlete on tape, doesn’t have exceptional arm talent, and too often does things that simply won’t translate to the NFL game,” Breer wrote.

Breer also said that multiple people told him they believe the only way Sanders will be drafted in the first round is if an NFL team owner gets involved and tells his football people to select the quarterback.

All it would take is one team to erase any narratives that have surrounded Sanders, but it is impossible to ignore how much of a hit his stock seems to have taken. At one point, Sanders was viewed as the best player available in the draft. He now appears to be miles behind Cam Ward and a player that almost no team is anxious to select.

One NFL talent evaluator recently had a troubling two-word description of Sanders. While a lot of the information that has circulated could have been leaked by teams that have a vested interest in Sanders’ falling down the board, there seems to be a growing consensus that he is not viewed as a potential franchise quarterback.

At the very least, Sanders should be plenty motivated to prove his critics wrong wherever he lands.
