Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware has received the worst possible news on his injured knee.
Via Chiefs trainer Rick Burkholder, Ware has a torn PCL and potential other damage, and while he is seeking a second opinion, his season is likely over.
Spencer Ware has a torn PCL in addition to other damage. He'll get a second opinion, but it's thought to be season ending, per @proatc.

Ware was Kansas City’s leading rusher in 2016, racking up 921 yards, plus another 447 in receiving yardage.
Ware does indeed appear to have avoided a serious ACL injury, but this sounds bad enough. It likely means rookie Kareem Hunt will be extensively used out of the Chiefs’ backfield to start the year.
