Le’Veon Bell was not present for the start of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first official practice of the 2018 season on Monday, and it seems like the team was surprised by his decision to continue staying away.
In a somewhat candid statement, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said he is “disappointed” Bell is still holding out.
No Le’Veon Bell, still.
Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said: “We are disappointed Le'Veon Bell has not signed his franchise tender and rejoined his teammates. (We) will continue to focus on preparing the players on our roster for our regular season opener Sunday against the Browns.”

There was a report last week that Bell was planning to rejoin the Steelers on Monday, but the star running back quickly shot that down on Twitter. With less than a week to go until the Steelers kick off their season against the Cleveland Browns, you can understand why the team would have hoped he would end the holdout by this point.
Bell is as important to his team’s offense as any player in the NFL, but there have been indications that even his teammates could be growing frustrated with him.
