Steelers reportedly shopping starting RT Marcus Gilbert in trade talks
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still searching for a trade partner for Antonio Brown, but the star wide receiver is not the only starter they are looking to deal this offseason.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Friday that the Steelers are trying to trade right tackle Marcus Gilbert.

Gilbert, Pittsburgh’s second-round draft pick back in 2011, has appeared in just 12 games over the past two seasons because of injuries. He was eventually placed on injured reserve last year after suffering a knee injury early in the season. Gilbert was also suspended in 2017 for violating the NFL’s drug policy.
Gilbert turned 31 this offseason, so it seems unlikely that the Steelers will get much for him given his age and injury history. He’s entering the final year of a five-year, $30 million contract, and they may just end up releasing him if they’re unable to find a trade partner.
