Steve Wilks knows that his job is in jeopardy, but at least he has a good sense of humor about it.
Wilks spoke to the media at a press conference on Friday but was missing his usual podium to stand behind. The Arizona Cardinals first-year head coach joked that was a sign he was getting close to the end.
Cardinals coach Steve Wilks, laughing as he walked up to the microphone for his weekly Friday news conference and noticed the podium he usually stands behind had been removed: "Man, you know you're getting to the end when they don't give you a damn podium."

Wilks has the Cardinals at 3-12 entering the final game of the season. Though expectations for the Cardinals were not high entering the season, Wilks has still fallen below them. The Cardinals have scored the fewest points in the league and have the largest point differential in the league, meaning they have been the most overmatched team in the NFL.
The firing of Wilks reportedly is expected, though players have been expressing their support for the embattled coach.
