Steven Jackson cracks drug testing joke after signing one-day contract with Rams
Former NFL running back Steven Jackson signed a one-day contract with the Los Angeles Rams this week so he could retire as a member of the team, but he wants the NFL to know he has no intention of jumping through any hoops.
Jackson, who last played in 2015, took to Twitter on Thursday to remind NFL officials that he only signed for one day, so he’s not submitting to any random drug testing.
Dear NFL can you tell Mr. Lombardo that I signed a one day contract. I will not be reporting today for my random drug test screening. Thanks in advance #retirement life

The Mr. Lombardo that Jackson referred to is Dr. John Lombardo, who is in charge of the NFL’s drug testing program. Jackson then joked that he will take a 1/365th pay check even though he’s unwilling to pee in a cup.
But I’ll take a 1/365 of NFL salary pay check though

Jackson is the Rams’ all-time leading rusher with 10,138 rushing yards. His 11,438 career rushing yards rank 18th in NFL history. Since he seems to be enjoying retired life quite a bit, we can’t blame him for not wanting to live under the NFL’s rules again.
