In the latest season of Netflix’s sports docuseries Quarterback, viewers get an intimate glimpse into Joe Flacco’s life, including a tour of his garage that reveals the unassuming fate of his prized Super Bowl MVP reward.
After leading the Baltimore Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XLVII, Flacco was gifted a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray as the game’s Most Valuable Player.
The sleek red sports car, once a symbol of his triumph, now sits idle, locked away and covered in dust amid random household items and Christmas decorations. Flacco admitted he has not driven it in years, has misplaced the keys, and doubts it would even start.
“As you can see, it’s been in this garage,” Flacco said. “I think it’s been in here for probably five years. It’s kind of like a little trophy. I mean, you keep your trophies stuffed in the attic somewhere and this is just a bigger version of that.”
With a busy household that includes five children, practical vehicles take priority over flashy sports cars.
“I’m a functional person, so the car doesn’t function for us,” Flacco’s wife, Dana, said. “But it’s just such a trophy; just such an amazing feat that you can’t get rid of it.”
The Corvette serves not as a daily driver but as a dusty monument to one of the defining achievements in his long NFL career.
